05 June 2002 Disease Outbreak Reported As of 27 May 2002, the Malawian Ministry of Health has reported a total of 71 cases of bubonic plague in the district of Nsanje since the onset of the outbreak on 16 April 2002. The outbreak has so far affected 26 villages, 23 in the Ndamera area, 2 in Chimombo and 1 village in neighbouring Mozambique. There is good cross border collaboration between Malawian and Mozambican health teams.…
